We trekked for 7 hours today, covering 9.7km of up and down walking. Still very far away from Mt Everest from the green map.

Today's trek brought me to a new altitude of 4000m which about equals my last Mount KK summit of 4095m 8 years ago.

The main difference is that this time, I carried a load of 10kg on my back while the Mount KK climb I had a porter who carried everything for me.

Behind me in the photo is Phortse village (3850m). We descended from Mon village (4000m) to 3620m, crossed a river and then ascended to 3850m for a night rest here in Phortse.

In the second picture, I was at 4050m and deployed my hiking poles for the 1st time as my legs are getting tired.

Came by this nice platform to take photo of 3 of Nepal's most formidable peaks.

On the right, it's Amadablam peak (6850m), reputed to 90% tougher than Everest itself as lots of technique is required (u can see it's very steep peak). If one can conquer Amadablam, Everest will be attainable.

Just above my head is Everest Peak (8848m) on the left and Lotche peak (8000m+) on the right.

The main advantage about trekking during the start of off season is that the village is so quiet and we are the only 2 guests in this guesthouse today!
