Found an inexpensive Anemeter on Aliexpress which allows me to measure altitude, air pressure, humidity, temperature, Beauford Scale, wind speed, wind chill etc up to the altitude of 6,000m. Since the maximum altitude I will be reaching is 5,643m at Kalapathar, this device will suit my need. (I later realised that my Samsung S7 has a built in Barometer and Altimeter. But some online user feedback that it can only measure up to 3,500m only) So my US$36.00 is still well spent.

Today, I had some fun testing the features of this device in the toilet, with the air con, with the dryer etc. So now I am clearer of my external environment

For example, when I set the aircon at 25 degree, this anemeter reads 25.5 degree but when it is subjected to direct wind blow from the aircon, the wind temperature is actually 21.5 degree. The humidity reading in the aircon room is about 48% while that in the dryer service balcony becomes 85.5%. Toilet after a hot shower has a humidity of 71%.

I will find time to do some outdoor testing at Bukit Timah Hill and see if this altimeter really read 164m.

Once all is well, I will use this to take measurements along the Everest Base Camp trekking route in November
